Nov

Remember, remember, the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason and plot!! ….

Or in a payroll context, 5th November signifies is the end of month 7 of the tax year!

We hope you had a great Halloween and although it is now past, there are still scary things to face – such as 31 January 2015 which looms ever closer.

31 January 2015 is the date by which you not only have to complete your self assessment tax return, if you are self-employed or have other income to declare, but it is also the date by which you have to pay any outstanding tax.

It may seem scary, but it doesn’t have to be – why not give us a ring and we can help you with this.

You will have noticed from some earlier TV campaigns that HMRC is telling us it  is working hard to reduce tax evasion and avoidance, including preventing evasion and avoidance, giving people opportunities to declare what they owe.  This includes having all sorts of campaigns to encourage people to disclose and pay tax on previously undeclared income – for example, this currently includes a “Let Property Campaign” which is running for 18 months from 18 September 2013.

If you are in any doubt about what income you have to declare, and when, just give us a ring and we can help you with this.
