Here’s hoping you had a great Halloween weekend and were not scared to death by ghosts, ghouls and nasty surprises.

Let’s hope that any interaction you have with HM Revenue and Customs don’t also result in a nasty surprise!

Start planning now for your self assessment deadline of 31 January 2017.  If you normally file by paper return, then you are TOO late.  That deadline was 31st October and has now gone!

Have you registered for your personal tax account yet?  If not, do so as soon as you can.  It is easy to do and you will be surprised how up to date it is.

It will also help ease you in gently to HMRC’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) plans which will start to be implemented from April 2018.

If you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail!   Not our wise words, but we are quoting Benjamin Franklin but it holds true to this day, especially with the implementation of MTD.
