Very exciting day today! 😀

I am travelling down to London at the invitation of Sage to meet with their team at a round table with James Murray MP at HMRC headquarters, to discuss Making Tax Digital for Income Tax MTDIT.

It is a fantastic opportunity to talk about MTDIT and the realities of how it will impact on accountants and clients alike. It is really reassuring that HMRC the treasury and the software houses are inviting our feedback and comments.

We have had great success thus far with the beta testing so it really bodes well for mandation in April 2026. The software companies are totally onboard and working so hard to make things work properly.

As an aoountant I feel that the software itself is not a concern at all and we just need to focus on educating our clients and bringing them onboard.

I do believe that the quarterly updates will really help clients get more up to date and organised and will have a much better and more timely understanding of likely tax liabilities so that they can budget for these. Its a WIN WIN.
