Forgive the slight delay in this month’s blog.  I thought it would be good to see which party (or parties) formed a government after the elections.

It was an unexpected result if you follow the polls, and we now have a majority conservative government.

So …. just for fun (!) …. here are some of the choicest cuts from the conservative party’s tax policies, so we can see what they have promised and see if they will deliver:-

• No increases to VAT, income tax, or national insurance.
• Treble the start-up Loans programme so entrepreneurs get the chance to borrow money to set up their own business.
• Raise the target for SMEs’ share of central government procurement to one-third.
• Nobody working 30 hours on the Minimum Wage pays income tax on what they earn.

99% of UK businesses are SMEs so it would make great sense to assist them …..

Let’s wait and see.
